  • Good ideas - poor wording

While some ideas are good - there isn't a whole lot of new ideas for today's kids. The wording is quite gender based - some boys in this day and age like to paint their nails. A little too religious for my taste + she likes to remind us of how she's a much better parent then her daughters friends parents. I know moms like this - it's unfortunate she took the "Holier then Thou" approach to writing. I'm sure there are a lot of parents that will appreciate it however.

It had excellent ideas, and I'm definitely going to try some of them out. But I'm afraid that I'm quite put off my how heteronormative it is, not to mention extremely gendered. You have to take everything with a grain of salt, and try not to flinch when it assumes you're white, straight, a woman, patriotic, as well as Catholic or Christian. Over all, great ideas, but they're put in a format I found mildly offensive. I baby sit a boy who loves to paint his fingernails pink, dress up, and be happy. I also have a sister you used to be my brother. Not everyone's gender matches they're sex.
