A preeminent scientist -- and the world's most prominent atheist -- asserts the irrationality of belief in God and the grievous harm religion has inflicted on society, from the Crusades to 9/11.

With rigor and wit, Dawkins examines God in all his forms, from the sex-obsessed tyrant of the Old Testament to the more benign (but still illogical) Celestial Watchmaker favored by some Enlightenment thinkers. He eviscerates the major arguments for religion and demonstrates the supreme improbability of a supreme being. He shows how religion fuels war, foments bigotry, and abuses children, buttressing his points with historical and contemporary evidence. The God Delusion makes a compelling case that belief in God is not just wrong but potentially deadly. It also offers exhilarating insight into the advantages of atheism to the individual and society, not the least of which is a clearer, truer appreciation of the universe's wonders than any faith could ever muster.

  • Awful

This is pure HATE propaganda. < this is the opinion from a scientist
  • Excellent

    From 49dozer
Dawkins is both witty & educational. If you are like me and never said out loud "I do not believe", but screamed it in your head...reading this book will make you wonder why you ever hesitated.
  • All arguments are redundant

    From Hamadchy
This book is full of fallacies. Science and religion are different fields. In order to prove science or religion you don't need to dismiss the other.
  • lol

    From Mattie.s.p
all the bad reveiws are from very religious people that have not read the book and were forced in to religion as a kid.
  • The book every human being should read

    From Frankthethank
Great read, in the form as much as in the content. If this book was read and understood by all humans, life on earth would be greatly improved, no doubt.
  • Ironic

    From TheGodConclusion
The only God delusion expressed in this book is Richard Dawkins' delusion about God.
  • Great

    From Hayden gdyfsgzs
I find the points that Dawkins make in this book are all very effective. God is not real and religion is a lie.
  • A very biased and flawed book

    From HOBBER71
If you are looking for an unbiased search for answers, you will not get it from this book. Dawkins is closed minded (as are most atheists) and often conveniently leaves out important details and counter arguments. . God is a very interesting topic but you need to read material that is open minded looking at both view points.
  • The God Delusion

    From Loark1
This is an engrossing, brilliant and at times hilarious book. I loved it, and I often quote from it when having discussions with friends who find it easy to believe in god.
  • To the idiot that said Trash

    From ArcticBanana
The whole book is against faith and call it too much faith?
